Please come back next year. There are many people in Seaton fighting to avoid the regeneration proposals destroying our town and this is building a new level of activity in the Town.
The oil is a disaster for the town, the warning signs are pathetic and my child has oil on them. EDDC got a boom across the river but they won't do anything for Seaton unless they are forced to do so - they don't even seem to have any shame about it. Next year consider coming in Carnival week or get in touch with the TIC and see what else is happening in the Town. This year there is a youth festival and the baptist church have been running family events for a week in clifftop gradens.
The swimming pool is privately owned by a company that want to sell to the developer, hence EDDC to do not advertise it and neither do the owners. However there is a pool at Axminster that is one of the few non chlorinated pools in the country.
Have just seen this having left a message on another thread. Thank you for your thoughts, and I share your frustration. As you can see from my other questions, we are having to give serious consideration to going somewhere else, where we don't have to risk problems. Pools are nice, events in the park great, your carnival is lovely, but we the reality is we come for the beach - our home town has a carnival, theatre, shops, a fun pool, 3 great parks and organised events - we actually live in a costal town - but it has a vast expense of sand, rather than a sheltered cove with warmer water.
If you see the deposit I'm going to put down in the next 4 weeks or so as a bet - would you put it on Seaton, the Med or maybe somewhere else in the South West?
