Thank you to Councillor Roger Giles, Councillor Iain Chubb and East Devon District Council’s StreetScene staff for arranging the first meeting of the new ‘recycling champions’ from our parish and town councils.

I am looking forward to working together to improve recycling, cut down waste and spread information about what we can all do to make a difference.

As I often get asked about cardboard collection here in Honiton, I’d like to mention that there is a trial of kerbside cardboard and plastics collection in Beer, which will hopefully be rolled out across the rest of East Devon if it is successful.

In the meantime - you can take your cardboard to the skip at the Honiton Tesco or up to the recycling centre at Sutton Barton. Don’t forget to recycle your Christmas cards as well. Drop me an email (sdpavey@gmail.com), or pop into the town council office in New Street, if you have any queries or ideas for improving recycling in Honiton.
