BURROW FARM GARDENS, Dalwood. This beautifully landscaped garden is a plantsman’s delight. The six-acre garden was created from farmland and is still being developed by the owners, Mr and Mrs Benger, with the help of their family. Open daily April - October 10am - 7pm. Admission £5, children £1.
May 10 ROUSDON COTTAGE GARDENS, Rousdon. (GREEN LANE COTTAGE and CHARTON TREE COTTAGE). Two delightful cottage gardens buried in the Devon countryside, each gardening organically and encouraging more than 50 species of wild birds and animals from the tiny goldcrest to badgers, hedgehogs and the occasional deer. Admission: £3.50, children free. (11am - 5pm).
May 23 SHUTE BARTON, Shute, nr Axminster, Devon EX13 7PT. Telephone: (01392) 883126. Medieval manor house with later architectural features, Shute Barton is one of the most important surviving non-fortified manor houses of the Middle Ages. One of the most important examples of its kind.
Open May23 -Sep 30. (2pm - 5.30pm). Admission by guided tour. The house is tenanted; there is visitor access to most parts of the interior. Last admission 30 mins before closing. Standard admission: Adult £3, child £1.50
