Lacemakers Cafe has been recognised for business excellence - receiving this year’s Pride of Honiton award.

Ray and Fiona Hanratty, from the High Street cafe, were presented with a glass trophy by the chairman of Honiton and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Colin Wright.

The presentation took place during the chamber’s annual meeting last Wednesday at Zest in Black Lion Court.

“I am very pleased for all the team,” says Ray. “It is delightful to be nominated and very rewarding. I would like to thank all the people that have nominated us.”

The award, which is now in its fourth year, is run by the chamber of commerce and members of the public were asked to nominate businesses in the town that have gone above and beyond the call of duty, demonstrated excellent customer care and provided outstanding service.

Lacemakers Cafe was up against a number of businesses in the town including previous winners A Dimond and Co Ltd, Just Cards, Otter Windows, Baker’s Butchers, Wine World, Wendy’s Cookshop, Liquid Assets, Go Mobile, Hillside Garage and Zest.
