Axminster is staging a D-Day 80 event on June 8, 2024, in commemoration of those brave veterans who fought in the historic landings.
The event, organised by the Axminster branch of the Royal British Legion, will kick-off at noon and last until 3.30pm, happening on Axminster Minster Green.
The day will be packed with activities featuring speeches, live musical performances, and historical displays. Youngsters will have interactive moments with the past while food stalls cater to attendees' needs.
Excitingly, there'll also be live vintage singer performances to heighten the nostalgic ambience. Interactive talks will build understanding of D-Day's history and importance.
Organisers aim to offer something for everyone so the community can unite in remembrance and gratitude.
