Money shared by Axminster Hospital League of Friends and lyme Regis RNLI team

Organisers of the Colyton Vintage Tractor run have donated the money raised at this year’s event to two worthy causes.

Cheques for £1,750 each were handed to representatives of the RNLI and the Axminster Hospital League of Friends’ for its new Hospiscare at Home service.

This year’s run, which took place on the May Bank Holiday Monday, saw some 120 vintage tractors make their way from Colyton to Uplyme via Whitford, Musbury, Combpyne, Cannington viaduct and Lyme Regis

The volunteer crew of Lyme Regis lifeboat were in Uplyme to welcome the participants and drivers on a very hot May bank holiday.

Last week members of the vintage tractor run committee gathered for the cheque presentation. Organiser Arthur Parsons, presented £1,750 to Seb Cope from Lyme Regis RNLI lifeboat while Kevin Salter gave a similar sum to Dr Barry McKenna from the Axminster Hospital League of Friends.
