Police in Honiton are appealing for information after a white west highland terrier was bitten by another dog.

The incident on Wednesday, January 29, between 8.25am and 8.35am, occurred at Millhead Road, near the junction with Milldale Crescent.

PCSO Steve Mingo told the Midweek Herald that the walker of the terrier sustained an injury to her finger whilst trying to separate the two dogs.

He said: “The offending dog is described as a stocky brown and black dog which was possibly a staffie, bulldog or similar being walked by a child aged approximately six to seven years old. It was reported by witnesses that the mother of the child was not far behind with another dog.

“Police are keen to speak to the family involved or anybody who may have witnessed the incident.”

Anybody with information is urged to call police on 101 and quote crime reference number KH/14/68.
