Tools and Machinery company takes gold at the DIY Week awards
One of the Axe Valley’s biggest employers has been recognised for its business excellence in the retail sector.
Axminster Tools and Machinery (AT and M) won gold when it was named ‘Retail Communicator of the Year’ at the ritzy DIY Week awards dinner at the Ricoh Centre, in Coventry.
The firm also picked up a silver award in the ‘Tool Retailer of the Year’ category.
DIY Week is a publication aimed at retailers and suppliers in the home improvement market.
The event, attended by almost 300 people, brought together some of the biggest names in the industry to recognise and reward achievements in 15 categories, from store manager and garden tetailer of the year, to power tool and DIY product of the year.
Host for the evening was comedian Ian Moore and there was both music and entertainment from the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
The event also gave guests an opportunity to support the Rainy Day Trust charity which is linked to the UK’s home improvement and enhancement industry.
