A358 shut in both directions after lorry brings down an electricity pole

The A358 between Axminster and Chard has been closed at Tytherleigh after a lorry badly damaged a power cable.

The incident happened at about 9.50 am today (Friday November 9), close to Hill View Farm.

Police say it appears that a lorry collided with an electricity pole and as a result another vehicle has been damaged.

The road is likely to remain closed until 5.30 pm, whilst Western Power deal with the cables and the Highways Agency have set up diversions around the scene.
