Monster fish caught in Beer waters.
A Kilmington angler who netted a 3lb black bream off the shores of Beer beach has described it as one of the ‘biggest of its kind he’s seen in the wild.’
Ed Vaughan, 46, of Kilmar caught the monster fish, which was netted by his friend Paul Hunt, 43, who lives in Seaton.
The two keen anglers were both surprised at the size of the bream.
“Bream aren’t that common fish to catch from the shore,” Ed explained.
“I was fishing for grey mullet, so I was only using a 6lb line as they are wary fish.
“So of course, I was shocked when I hooked the bream and once Paul netted it and showed it off, I think the surrounding fisherman was just as surprised.”
Ed ended up taking the fish home and cooking it for a slap-up dinner.
