Brainwave, one of Honiton’s oldest charity shops, has received a “brilliant response” from customers after its relocation to High Street.

The charity shop staff and volunteers were joined by the mayor, Councillor David Foster, town crier Dave Retter and Diddy the mayor’s bear to celebrate the official opening of the new premises last week.

Brainwave supervisor Diane Wood said: “We have had a brilliant response from our customers so far – they like the light, airy feel to the new shop. But most of all they like the fact that prices haven’t changed. The volunteers love the fact that it is roomy and light and warm to work in.”

The shop was previously located in New Street.

Diane added: “It has been great to see the regular customers come in and hear their opinions, we even had a few of our regulars giving us a hand with the move.”

Brainwave relies on donated stock. Anyone with old clothing or rags can take them along to the new shop.
