Broadhembury Parish Council marked the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on Saturday with the planting of a lime tree.

The tree was donated by Thornhayes Nursery at Dulford and 70 people turned out to help the organisers mark the occasion.

Many children and adults then enjoyed a duck race down the river Tale to raise funds for the village playground.

The playground committee are grateful to Forest Produce, Bitter Sweet, Broadhembury Post Office, Drewe Arms and other local business for their sponsorship of the event.
