Police helicopter involved in raid on village property as officers execute a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act

A large number of cannabis plants and cultivation equipment was seized during a major police operation at Thorncombe last night (Monday).

Officers from Lyme Regis and Bridport, supported by specialist units from Weymouth, a police dog and the force helicopter, took part in the raid at an address in the village, executing a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivating a controlled substance, and has since been bailed for further enquiries.

Anybody with any information in relation to this alleged offence is asked to contact Dorset Police on 101 or Crime Stoppers on 0800 555 111.
