Axminster Catenians back teenagers overseas aid mission

Axminster Catenians have presented a West Dorset student with a donation towards her African aid mission.

President Nat Bruzon handed 17-year-old Molly Hyde a cheque for £350, from the group’s bursary fund, to assist with her five week project in Tanzania.

The presentation took place during Mass at St Mary and St Catherine Roman Catholic Church, in Bridport, where the teenager lives.

Molly, 17, will be going on a Lassalian (De La Salle Brothers Development Organisation) developing world project, to a village in the Njombe region, where they will be building a computer room in the primary school that will serve the local community, giving them their first computers to help them connect to the outside world.

Molly eventually hopes to go into acting, or working around theatre, film and television.

** The Catenian Bursary Fund is available to those aged between 16 and 24, to assist with some of the travel and living costs in a community-based project, at home or abroad.

Further details are available from http://www.thecatenians.com/ , or local Catenians.

Catenians are Catholic men who meet regularly for social activities – often with their families.

They are part of an international organisation with over 10,500 members. Members of Axminster Catenians are drawn from East Devon, West Dorset and South Somerset.
