Chardstock Street Fayre team hands out £4,500

Money raised at the popular annual event is distributed to local worthy causes

Chardstock Street Fayre organisers handed out donations totalling £4,500 to local good causes on Friday.

The annual presentation evening took place in Chardstock Community Hall where cheques were presented to representatives of Chardstock Newsletter, The Project, Devon Air Ambulance, Chardstock Community Hall Trust and Chardstock Cricket Club.

Music was provided by local band ‘Plain Sailing’ who donated their services and made the evening a ‘rockin’’ success.

At a recent Hallowe’en Bingo session the Street Fayre team raised a further £500 which will be donated to the fund for the installation of night landing lights for the Air Ambulance in Chardstock.

A spokesman for the Street Fayre said: “We wish to thank all those who have given their time, energy and money so generously this year to support local organisations. The team looks forward its fund-raising challenges in 2018!”
