Council chiefs from across Dorset hear about the importance of training and equipment for the RNLI crew

Council chiefs from across Dorset were given a tour of Lyme Regis lieboat station.

They visited the town as part of their annual civic day events and were welcomed by Mayor Michaela Ellis.

The party included mayors and deputies, council chairmen and other dignitaries.

At the lifeboat station they were given a presentation on the importance of training and equipment required for the volunteer RNLI crew.

Nick Marks, lifeboat operations manager said: “We were very happy to welcome the representatives from Dorset councils which has enable us to highlight contribution of our volunteers in saving lives at sea, RNLI fundraising and promoting the wider RNLI initiatives for community safety.”
