Charities benefit from the Club’s generosity.
The Seaton & District Lions Club’s monthly meeting was rich in community spirit as they enjoyed an evening of donating to charities.
The money was raised after the club’s charity fundraising day at Pecorama in August, where they collected for Devon Freewheelers and Children’s Hospice South West.
Their efforts saw them raise a total of £700 on the day, and the Lions decided to double the money they collected and give both of the charities £700 each.
“The Lions Club likes to put an emphasis on local charities,” said Club Lion Neil Rutter. “The Devon Freewhelers do such a fantastic job for the community.
“Hospice South West is also a charity close to our hearts. It was a pleasure to be able to donate to both worthy causes.”
At the same meeting, the Lions made another donation of £100 to the Seaton Town Football Club towards the running of its youth team’s service.
The Seaton & District Lions Club meets every second Tuesday of the month at 8pm in the Eyre Court Hotel in Queen Street, Seaton.
Anyone willing to become involved in helping the community can attend the club’s meetings as a guest by contacting Neil on 01297 21572.
