Coastguard alert over ‘missing’ family

Father and sons reported overdue after setting off to paddle from Charmouth to Seatown

Emergency services received a 999 call expressing concern for the welfare of a man and his two children who had set off in an inflatable dinghy to paddle from Charmouth to Seatown.

Coastguard units from Lyme Regis and West Bay carried out a shoreline search and located the missing dinghy ashore on St Gabriels beach and safety advice was imparted.
