Axminster crew deal with two chimney fires in three hours
Axminster firefighters dealt with two chimney fires involving wood burning stoves yesterday (Sunday).
The first incident, at Dalwood, happened at around 9.30am.
Crew members extinguished the fire using small tools, chimney gear and a short extension ladder.
Some three hours later they were called to deal with a similar incident at a property in Harcombe. Again they used chimney gear and small tools to extinguish the fire and a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots.
