Production of Joan Littlewood’s “Oh, what a lovely war” opens today
Students at Colyton Grammar school are putting on a production of Joan Littlewood’s “Oh, What a Lovely War” for the next three days.
Directed by year 13 students Alex Hall and Andrew Crump, with production by the same crew that ran Colyton’s first student-led musical last year, the satire explores the ironies and tragedies surrounding the First World War through stories and songs.
The musical is supported by a live band with refreshments provided during the interval.
Director Andrew Crump said that “this has been a really interesting project to take part in, there is a great cast and it promises to be a fantastic evening for all.”
Performances are tonight ( Wednesday 17), tomorrow and Friday at 7pm in the Cottrill Hall
Tickets are available from the School Library or by emailing cgs_owalw@yahoo.co.uk where people can reserve tickets to collect and pay on the door.
The performance will cost just £6 for adults and £4 for students/children.
