Ladies from across three counties got ‘tall and slender’ at a summer flower arranging workshop in Combe St Nicholas Village Hall.

They watched a step-by-step demonstration, learning how to work with a short tank glass vase to create their designs, being treated to lots of floristry hints and tips along the way.

Jude Corbin, from Axminster, said: “The workshop was very relaxing, friendly and I learnt a lot. I was really pleased with my design.”

Sue Lane, from Uplyme, said: “I found the workshop calming, sociable and full of new ideas. I was really pleased with my design.”

Tutor Jackie Nicholls from Ashville Design, in Somerset, who ran the workshop, said: “We all have areas in our homes where there is only room for a flower arrangement that is tall and thin, so on this workshop, the ladies learnt how to create a stylish, eye-catching design. The end results all had the ‘wow’ factor – a huge well done from me!”
