A PUBLIC meeting to discuss the future of maternity services at Honiton Community Hospital will not now take place until the end of next month.

Honiton Town Council has called the meeting in response to the concerns of local people.

The meeting will be held at the Royal British Legion Club, Dowell Street, on Saturday, June 26, at 10.30am.

It will be open to everyone and the council hopes that all those who have concerns will take the opportunity to attend.

Devon NHS managers will be co-hosting the event and will be there to answer any questions.

They will use the meeting as part of their consultation on the future of maternity services in Honiton and East Devon

Councillor Vernon Whitlock, who will be chairing the meeting with the NHS, said: "There are many people who have concerns over the proposed changes.

"This will be a good opportunity for these to be addressed and for hospital managers to find out what local people think.
