The incident happened at 11.15am this morning (Friday) at a property in Exeter Close.

A dishwasher was completely destroyed after it caught fire at a home in Feniton.

The incident happened at 11.15am this morning (Friday) at a property in Exeter Close.

Firefighters from Ottery St Mary, Honiton, Middlemoor and an operational assurance officer rushed to the scene.

On arrival crews got to work extinguishing the blaze, and the electrics were also isolated.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “The fire happened in a domestic property measuring 10m x 10m.

“The fire was on the ground floor, involving dishwasher in the kitchen, which was 100 per cent damaged by smoke and fire.

“The blaze was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one safety jet, thermal image camera and small tools.

“The cause of the fire was accidental.”
