Dogs off leads are causing damage to trees in Honiton’s Glen, it has been revealed.

Now efforts are under way to correct a list of errors on East Devon District Council’s website - to ensure dogs are kept on leads in areas where dog control orders are in place.

The town management advisory committee heard last week that, while dogs must be kept on leads in The Glen, they are currently not required to be on leads in an area known as Glen Park.

Town councillors feel confusion could be adding to the beauty spot’s dog woes and new control orders may be necessary, the meeting was told.
