A road was left blocked after a crash involving two vehicles in Axminster this afternoon (Wednesday).

Emergency services were called to the scene on the eastbound carriageway of the A35 at about 4.40pm.

The incident, which took place between the B3261 (Axminster) and B3165 Crewkerne Road (Raymond’s Hill), left the road blocked in both directions causing slow traffic.

The road is now only partially blocked but traffic is still slow.

A Devon and Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “One fire appliance from Axminster attended an road traffic collision involving two vehicles with all persons free and clear of their vehicles.

“Crews assisted the police making the scene and vehicles safe, and used small tools and one hose reel jet.”
