Police are warning drivers of large vehicles they could face court proceedings if they ignore signs prohibiting them from parts of Seaton.

Officers are concerned that a number of vehicles wider that six feet are using Marlpit Lane as a cut through from Seaton Down Hill to Beer road.

“Police are receiving complaints that some drivers are doing this,” said Seaton neighbourhood beat manager PC Daz Norton. “This is in contravention to the six feet width limit, clearly signed at both ends of the lane.

“The Police will be monitoring this area and anyone found to be in contravention of the signs could face a fine or prosecution.”
