Town council to debate planners’ refusal to remove a requirement for affordable housing from riverside homes’ development
Seaton Town Council has called an extraordinary meeting for Thursday (October 25) to consider the future of the former Racal site alongside the Axe estuary.
Members will discuss the decision by East Devon District Council’s development management committee not to remove a requirement for affordable housing from a planning agreement relating to the building of some 90 flats on the land at Seaton Quay. The owners say this now makes the scheme unviable.
Residents will be able to express their views during a public session at the meeting, which takes place in the enterprise suite, at the town hall, starting at 7pm.
