Fatal collision near Honiton

A motorcyclist has died after a collision on the A35, Axminster Road, near Honiton.

Police say the 49-year-old man, from Honiton, was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

A 750cc Kawasaki motorcycle and a milk collection tanker were involved in the incident, which happened at 3.47pm on Sunday (May 18), at the entrance to Hale Farm.

The road was closed for over seven hours while an investigation of the scene took place and the vehicles were recovered. The tanker containing milk had to be pumped out before recovery.

Witnesses are being urged to call police on 101 and quote incident number 597 of 18/5/14.
