A large quantity of logs and hedgerow “was well alight”.
Firefighters from Axminster and Charmouth were called to a timber blaze at Raymond’s’ Hill last night (Sunday, July 27).
Emergency services received multiple calls to report the fire in woodland in the Green Lane area at around 10pm.
The Axminster crew was first on the scene and were joined by a second appliance from Charmouth to help with water supply and firefighting.
A large quantity of logs and hedgerow measuring approximately 15 meters was well alight.
Crews used two hose reels as well as drag forks to tackle the fire, before leaving the area safe
