A Honiton woman, who has battled with breast cancer, hopes to raise as much as she can for Breast Cancer Care.

A Honiton mum and grandmother, who has battled with breast cancer, hopes to give something back and help others with the disease by running her first marathon.

Sally Hutter will be taking part in the Taunton Marathon on April 6 to raise money for Breast Cancer Care – a charity close to her heart.

The 49-year-old was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 following a routine check and underwent surgery to treat the disease.

After recovering from surgery she soon jumped straight back into sports. However, Sally admits she is used to taking part in triathlons rather than marathons as she is a member of the N1 Tri Club.

“I love a challenge,” says the 49-year-old. “It is for a good cause and I am determined to do it.”

On the day she will be joined by Karl Hodson, who has been training with Sally. She hopes to complete the 26.2 miles in four hours 15 minutes. The pair have been busy training for the event.

Her family will be coming along to support her on the day.

Sally has set her sights on raising at least £500 for Breast Cancer Care and is appealing to the local community to help her raise as much as she can for the charity.

“It is going to be tough but the outcome is to raise money for other people. It is worth all that effort.”

She has thanked her friends and family for all their support, especially her partner Mike Rose and the N1 Tri Club.
