Seafront luxury apartments are being built to German Passivhaus standard

A seafront development of eight luxury apartments at Seaton is set to become the area’s first building to achieve a rare German rating for energy saving.

Work on Seaton Beach at East Walk – a four-storey development with a luxury penthouse on the fifth floor - completed next April.

It will become one of almost 300 fully certified Passivhaus projects constructed in the UK in the last 15 years.”

Passivhaus refers to a rigorous, voluntary standard for energy efficiency in a building, reducing its ecological footprint. It results in ultra-low energy buildings.

Seaton Beach MD Mike Webb said: “Not many UK developers build to this standard but we feel it is the right thing to do for the environment. Furthermore the lucky owners will experience extremely low bills with high comfort levels.

People can book an appointment to see the development close up on Friday (November 9) being held to coincide with the Passivhaus Open House event taking place worldwide.
