Suspect extradited from Florida to Devon to appear in court.

A man who was extradited from Florida to Devon has denied eleven sex offences against young girls which date back to the 1980s and 1990s.

David James, 61, was returned to Britain from his home in Orlando earlier this year to face a series of allegations which relate to the time when he lived in the Honiton area.

James, who emigrated 10 years ago, is accused of sexual assaults on two girls who were aged under 16 at the time. James, of Skyline Drive, Orlando, denies two rapes, six indecent assaults and three offences of gross indecency.

All the offences are alleged to have taken place in East Devon or the Midlands between 1983 and 1995.

Judge Francis Gilbert, QC, remanded him in custody to await trial at Exeter Crown Court.
