A pair of fundraisers will be getting the chop to raise money for Hospiscare and honour the memory of a dear friend and former secretary of Honiton and District Darts League.
Diana Virgin and Alex Waldron will be shaving their heads on Saturday, May 3, at Honiton Conservative Club, in full view of the public from 7.30pm.
Diana and Alex lost close friend Paul Kiddle to cancer in February 2014. Paul was a well known and popular member of the local community and was captain of Di and Alex’s darts team and secretary for Honiton and District Darts League. Paul was well known for his bald head and had affectionate nicknames because of it.
Diana said: “We know how important Hospiscare is and to have somewhere here in Honiton so people don’t have to travel when they are not feeling their best will make a huge difference.”
The brave friends are hoping to raise as much as possible in his memory for local charity Hospiscare. Hospiscare is currently building a new East Devon Day Hospice which will support patients and their families in the region with a terminal illness.
Hospiscare needs to raise £250,000 to build and run the new day hospice. To support Di and Alex, visit www.justgiving.com/Diana-Virgin.
