The Rector of Honiton is to dye her hair - only if she can raise £250.
The Rector of Honiton is getting into the spirit of Red Nose Day and will be dyeing her hair red for the occasion - but only if she can raise £250.
The Rector, Reverend Sue Roberts, will be joined by the Mayor of Honiton, Councillor David Foster, who will also be dying his hair, and is asking people in the town to help raise money to change others’ lives for the better.
She said: “I’ve never had red hair and I’m not sure it’s my colour but I will do it for Comic Relief, if the people of Honiton can pledge £250 to change lives for the better round the world.
“I’ll be doing something funny for money; what will you do?”
The church will also be inviting the community to take part in a Fabulously Funny Bake Off and compete for the title of master baker of Honiton on Friday, March 15.
Entries for the baking competition will be accepted from 9am and will be judged from 3pm by Wendy Le Masurier of Wendy’s Cookshop.
The competition will be judged at the church and the cakes will be auctioned off after 3.30pm.
There will be three categories - best large cake, best cake or biscuit made by an under 16, and funniest cake or biscuit.
St Paul’s Church will be holding a cake decorating workshop on Thursday, March 7, from 11.30am to noon, which will be run by Jenny Lidster of The Farway Cake Fairy.
