Seaton parkrun celebrated its first birthday on Saturday (November 11) with runners and volunteers wearing their favourite hat for the occasion.

Another 166 people ran, jogged or walked to mark the anniversary with 27 volunteers making it all possible.

Prizes were presented to the three most prolific volunteers - Marilyn Hughes, Sue Venn and Jane Bennett. Between them they have volunteered 109 times during the first year.

Julie Haines was the female runner completing the most Seaton parkruns – 43 - while Keith Agland, was the top male runner with 35.

Organisers also presented a prize to Hilary Bradt for best hat.

The prizes, which were donated by Hideaway Cafe were presented by event directors Tony Smith and Carol Austin.

Since the first event on November 12 last year more than 2,500 different runners have taken part in the free, timed 5k run.
