Honiton student Lauren Lemmer still needs your help to win a Mini. She will be holding an open test drive on Sunday to help boost help points total.
A Honiton student is embarking on the final leg of her Mini Mission and needs the community’s help to ensure she stays in pole position.
Lauren Lemmer is one of 14 students taking part in the national Mini competition to win one of the cars and is currently in first place.
“The mission is going really well,” says the 21-year-old. “I am currently first, which is so exciting.
“However, the top three is too close to call so I still need as many people as possible to test drive the Mini.”
As part the challenge the Plymouth University student, who is studying marketing, has to get as many people as possible to come on test drives or Mini missions with her, which she is then awarded points for.
During her latest mission she had to cram as many people as possible into the car and enlisted the help of Honiton Twirlstars, who rose to the challenge.
It was a tight squeeze but a total of 18 Twirlstars were able to fit inside the car.
The mayor, Councillor David Foster, Diddy, the mayor’s bear, and town crier Dave Retter also showed their support and joined Lauren for a test drive.
People can show their support by liking Lauren’s Facebook page - for every ‘like’ she receives she is awarded one point and a further 10 points for every person who drives the car.
If Lauren wins the competition she will be able to keep the car for a year and Mini will also throw a party for her university.
Anyone interested in helping is urged to email Plymouth@myminimission.com or visit the Mini Mission Plymouth Facebook page.
She has until January 27 to complete the challenge.
Lauren is holding an open test drive on Sunday, from 2pm until 5pm – those interested in taking part should meet in Café 102 Bar.
