The popular Honiton Hill Rally is returning for another year!

The jam-packed event, which will showcase hundreds of vehicles and the South West Tractor Pullers, will be held on Smeatharpe Airfield (EX14 9RF), on Sunday, August 26 and Monday, August 27, between 9am and 5pm on both days.

Honiton Hill Rally started in 1972 and has grown in size and popularity throughout the years.

Vehicles on display include steam engines, tractors, cars, motorcycles, lorries and fire engines.

On the Monday, an auction of collectables will be held in conjunction with Kivells Auctioneers, starting at 10am.

Throughout this year’s event there will be several trade stands, craft stalls and working demonstrations, as well as live music on both afternoons, which will continue into the evening (Sunday only).

There will also be plenty for the family to do with children’s entertainment in the form of face painting, scrap store craft workshop, Scotty’s workshop and children’s characters. This year, a larger fun fair with stalls, helter skelter, chairoplanes, dodgems and twister all due to attend.

Honiton Hill Rally is well known for its working displays and this year will be no exception.

There will be wood sawing, reed combing, combining, baling and ploughing – and a live commentary on the working exhibits to explain their history and how they work.

Admission to this year’s rally is £10 for adults and children under the age of 16 are free when accompanied by a paying adult.

Wayne Summers, vice-chairman of Honiton Hill Rally said: “Every year the event gets bigger and better with a great buzz and atmosphere.

“The historic airfield’s concrete runways are ideal for mobility of the public and exhibits in any weather.
