Honiton resident victim of distraction burglary by two men wearing woolly hats

PUBLISHED: 11:00 08 November 2018

A householder in Honiton fell prey to a distraction burglary carried out earlier this month.

Town PCSO Darren England said the resident, in Millhead Road, was approached by a male who enquired about doing some fencing in their back garden.

PCSO England said: “A second male entered the property whilst the resident was being distracted by the first male.”

The incident happened on November 1 at 1.30pm.

PCSO England added: “We are looking to see if anyone noticed two males in the area who were both white and wearing woolly hats - one grey and one grey and red.

“I would like to remind resident to always keep their doors locked when leaving their homes. If anyone knocks at your door, do not let anyone in your property unless you have arranged a visit and always ask for ID.”

Anyone who has information relating to the distraction burglary can call 101 quoting CR/101499/18.
