Littletown Primary Academy also staged assemblies and activities throughout the day to discuss mental health and share ideas on how people can help each other.

Debbie Newman, the school’s mental health lead, said: “We took the opportunity to partner with charity Young Minds and join in with its #helloyellow campaign to raise awareness of young people’s mental health.

“As a school we are working with Early Help for Mental Health to be one of the first schools in Devon to write and implement a mental health strategy for our school with the aim that pupils, parents, staff and the whole Littletown community can have a better understanding of mental health, so that vulnerable children and families can receive the support they need.

“Staff wellbeing is high on the agenda as part of that strategy and this was boosted on world mental health day by yellow goodies to eat and decorate the staff room with.”
