Chocolate Worx, a project which teaches skills to unemployed people with disabilities through making chocolate truffles and selling them through stores in the area, received the money through crowdfunding that is matched by Santander’s Changemaker Fund.

Mark Brownbill, the director of Devon Skills, which runs Chocolate Worx, said the money will be spent on equipment, coaching, rent and marketing.

He said: “The ambition is to help people run their own individual businesses.

“It’s fantastic we are helping people to lead an individual life. It is a really good feeling to put the money back into the community.”

Sue Douthwaite, Managing Director of Santander Business Banking, commented: “We are thrilled to be supporting Chocolate Worx to help those with disabilities to learn employability skills. Everyone should be given the chance to learn these key skills and have confidence in their future, and we look forward to seeing how the programme develops with the benefit of this funding.”
