Taste of the West Awards for dairy and farm shop.
Producers from Honiton were the toast of the South West last week.
Bartletts Farm Shop and Otter Valley Dairy took two top Taste of the West Awards during a presentation ceremony held at the Eden Project.
Otter Valley Dairy won the Best Ice Cream of the Year award for the second year running.
This year’s prize winner was a homemade, artisan ice cream with flavours to celebrate the Olympics.
Rebecca Bond, of the Monkton-based dairy, said the company is a family-run business and that she was “absolutely delighted” to have won the prestigious accolade for the second year in a row.
The dairy is now concentrating on festive flavours and making Christmas pudding flavour ice cream as well as an exotic-sounding manadrin and Champagne ice cream.
Bartletts Farm Shop won the Best Burger of the Year award for its homemade pork and apple burger.
The farm shop, based at Hayne Farm, Gittisham, sells a large variety of local produce - with a fresh meat and deli counter selling their own beef hung and matured for 21 days.
The pork is sourced from Feniton.
Nicola and Rebecca Bartlett said in a statement: “We are very proud to receive this award from Taste of the West.
“Having only opened three years ago, it is an amazing achievement and sums up how we feel about producing fine food in an area where there are some fantastic food producers.”
