Honiton Show has taken place today, with ground conditions holding up in spite of prolonged periods of rain.

Measures put in place by the show’s organising committee prevented the feared mud bath.

Visitor numbers are expected to be down after the show, traditionally held on the first Thursday in August, was postponed following a wash-out start to the summer.

Traffic flow on the A30 approach to the showground site at Weston was well managed, with clear signage and easy passage for those motorists not visiting the annual event.

Your Midweek Herald, one of the show’s main ring sponsors, has been at the showground all day.
