Ian loses pounds to boost Seaton Hospital’s finances

Sponsored weight loss raises £370 for vital end-of-life nursing scheme

Shedding the pounds resulted in a cheque for £370 being presented to Seaton and District Hospital League of Friends last week.

Local man Ian Beaven set himself a target of losing two stone by the end of April and decided to try to benefit others in the process.

“In January this year I weighed myself and decided that 17 stone was heavy enough!” he told the Midweek Herald.

“I have been one of the managers at Haven Court (care home), in Seaton, for five years and have seen the valuable work that the Seaton Friends Hospiscare@Home nurses have done there, helping some of our residents towards the end of their lives.

“The residents at Haven Court, my friends and family were very generous in their sponsorship and I was delighted to have raised £370 for this fantastic service.”
