It has been another record breaking year for Honiton Community College with students obtaining the ‘best ever’ A level results in its history for a second year in a row.

Students turned out today to collect their A level and AS level results.

Principal Glenn Smith said: “2014 has been another record breaking year for Honiton Community College’s sixth form. I am very proud of each and every one of our Year 13, and also our Year 12, students.

“In Year 13 we have had some individually outstanding performances that have contributed to the best ever set of results in the college’s history – for the second year in succession.”

One of the success stories of the day was Sam Johnson who achieved four A* in maths, physics, chemistry and biology, as well as As in further maths, environmental science and English literature at AS level.

The 18-year-old has been offered a place to study natural sciences at Cambridge University.

This year was the highest ever A* to E pass rate (97 per cent) and Year 12 results were up by 10 per cent on last year’s record breaking set of results.
