Archant

Well-known storybook characters spotted in Honiton.

Colourful story book characters were brought to life across East Devon last week to celebrate World Book Day.

Pupils at Honiton Primary School swapped their uniforms and donned some creative costumes for the day.

The children had plenty of fun adventures and developed their own interesting twists to some traditional tales. Pupils were also paired up with others from different groups to share they stories they had invented.

The day was brought to an end with a costume competition, which was held by the PTFA, who generously donated the prizes. The winners in key stage one section were Lexi Haines and Dion Tratt Skinner. Charlie Wilding and Chloe Mae Outram won in the lower key stage two category. Phoenix Welch and Laura Beth Outram were the winners in the upper key stage two section.
