Pensioner helped to safety after hurting his knee while walking on the beach

A 70-year-old man had to be rescued after injuring his knee on Seaton Beach yesterday morning (Thursday, January 2).

South West Ambulance control requested coastguard assistance to help a paramedic retrieve the pensioner.

Beer Coastguard rescue officers were subsequently tasked by Portland Coastguard and, quickly on-scene, conveyed the casualty safely off the beach and onto the promenade, from where he was subsequently taken by ambulance for further treatment.
