Members of Lyme Regis lifeboat crew are set to make splash on the BBC One antiques show Flog It!

A production team spent yesterday (Thursday, June 5) filming them at the lifeboat station and at sea.

Interviews with one of the newest crew members, Murray Saunders, and the longest serving, Colin Jones, were recorded.

And presenter Paul Martin took a ride in the lifeboat, Spirit of Loch Fyne, with volunteer Elliott Herbert at the helm.

Members of the production team were taken to sea in the harbourmaster’s launch, filming the lifeboat at speed and an exercise in which crew member, Tom Wallis, was ‘rescued’ when he fired flares off Charton Bay.

Mr Martin said: “The trip in the lifeboat was amazing - I loved it.”

Elliott Herbert said: “We were delighted to host the BBC team, and we did our best to make the rescue as realistic as possible.”

Other members of the lifeboat crew involved in the filming were Tom Crabbe and Mark Gage.

The Flog It! show, with an audience of two million, featuring the Lyme Regis lifeboat crew will be aired early next year.
