Lyme RNLI crew quickly establish the vessel is safely at anchor

Lyme Regis RNLI lifeboat was launched at 7.10pm last evening (Tuesday, August 26) following an onlooker’s report that a yacht was drifting towards the shore off Charmouth.

The volunteer lifeboat crew soon established that the 22 foot yacht had moved but was safely at anchor and the yacht and its skipper were in no danger.

The ‘shout’ was recorded as a false alarm with good intent.
