Honiton and District Lions Club dishes out £2,000 to local charities.

Honiton and District Lions Club has dished out £2,000 to help charities serving the local community.

During an event at Deer Park Hotel cheques were presented to Dan Lavery and Kevin Lee, of the Devon Freewheelers.

Not to be outdone Lyn Guilbert, the wife of the Honiton and District Lions Club president, together with the Lions Ladies presented Jean and Davis Cantle, of FORCE, and Mary Bolshaw, of Hospiscare, with cheques for £500 each.

Lion president Steve Guilbert and his wife Lyn said that putting local money back into the local community gives everyone a good feeling, but without the support of the community in Honiton and Ottery St Mary none of this would be possible.
