Lions help fund footballers’ French trip

Seaton Town Youth Football Club receives £500 to help finance its visit to Thury Harcourt

Seaton and District Lions Club has given £500 to the town’s youth football club to help them fund a trip to France.

This Whitsun weekend two of the rersort’s youth teams will be travelling to Seaton’s twinned town of Thury-Harcourt, to take on the young French soccer players.

Seaton Town Youth Football Club hope it will enhance relations between the two communities.

The party of about 30 youngsters, aged 12-14, will be led by Tony Bartlett, manager of the under-14 team and Jamie McCabe, manager of our under-12 team. Some parents of the youngsters will accompany the party.

The cost of the trip is around £4,000 so the Lions were delighted to be able to assist them with a cheque towards this.
